New York City’s chief digital office announced today (Feb. 10) the city wants to partner with businesses for technology solutions to save taxpayers money.
Rachel Sterne, who on Jan. 24 became the city’s first-ever chief digital officer, requested input from not only businesses but also city employees and residents to create lean digital tools ― ways for cutting waste ― and establish public-private partnerships. She said their ideas will help her create the 90-day report on the city’s digital initiatives that will be published in April.
“In short, my job is to serve New Yorkers using the Web,” Sterne wrote on the blog Digital City. To businesses, she said, “Support your community and expand your business by publicly partnering with New York City to provide technology solutions.
“NYC government is your government, and we are all in this together.”
